FSManager 1.0
The initial release of FSManager — a cloud-hosted, browser-based business management system purpose-built for aluminium joinery businesses in New Zealand.
This page documents what shipped at launch and any patch updates on the 1.0.x line.

Tier scope
This release ships Lite tier. Full and Pro tier modules are on the public roadmap — see Modules for what’s currently available.
Known limitations
- Bulk CSV import of customers / contacts / suppliers / products is not provided at Lite. Quote Importer (V6/X1) is available for quote data. See Data Import for the recommended seeding approach.
- Non-conformance module (NCP) placeholder relationships exist on JobPart but the NCP module itself is on the roadmap. IFOTIS In Spec defaults to true pending NCP automation.
Patches
1.0.3 — 6 August 2026
For all users
- Favourite the reports you use. Pin any report as a My Favourite so it’s yours alone, or a Company Favourite so everyone sees it flagged. Pin and unpin from the report list or from the report’s own page.
- A warning before you create a duplicate. When a new customer or opportunity looks like one you already have, FSManager stops and shows you exactly what matched — the conflicting phone number, email or address — and which existing record it belongs to. Open that record to check, or carry on if it really is new. The check also runs if you navigate away from an unsaved record and choose to save, so nothing slips through.
- Start date now means the date work actually started. Once the first labour is claimed on a manufacturing task, a job part’s start date is stamped with that real date — and it stops moving when the delivery date changes. Previously a delivery-date change dragged the start date with it even for parts already underway. Parts that started before this release correct themselves automatically.
- Clearer messages when changing a delivery date. Setting a date in the past, or leaving a required reason detail blank, now shows a tidy message instead of a full error dialog.
- The Job Manager opens the way most people use it — summarised, with initials, and combined — rather than needing to be set each time.
For admins
- Productivity and chargeable now mean one thing everywhere. The Factory Performance dashboard previously calculated these differently from the Staff Performance report. Both now use the same definitions: Productivity = quoted job time ÷ job time claimed (over 100% means faster than quoted), and Chargeable = quoted job time ÷ paid time. Your dashboard figures will shift when this lands — that’s the correction, not a fault. Note that dashboard layouts you’ve customised are reset as part of this change.
- Choose what duplicate checking does. Lead address, phone, email and customer name can each be switched on or off in CRM Settings. All four start switched on.
- Re-run the supplier import after setup. Two Administrator actions let you import glass suppliers or general suppliers again once the Setup Wizard is finished — useful when you take on a new supplier later. Anything you already have is pre-ticked so nothing imports twice.
- Project managers. Set a project manager on a customer and it carries to the job when the quote is won, so delivery-phase ownership is clear.
- Data sharing preferences. A new Data Sharing step in the Setup Wizard, mirrored in Company Settings, lets you choose whether to share benchmark data with your dieholder and with FSM. Nothing is shared beyond what you opt into.
Behind the scenes
- More accurate climate zones. A suburb’s climate zone is now taken from the official H1 zone for its territorial authority and postcode rather than estimated from the wider region. Existing suburbs update automatically.
- Buttons no longer go missing: visiting certain pages could leave New, Delete, Refresh and Filter switched off on every list opened afterwards until you reloaded. Fixed, with an automated check so it can’t return.
- Fixes to the Job Dashboard and detail pages that could error when navigating away mid-load, and to delivery and goods reports that were truncating addresses.
- Substantial groundwork for upcoming capability — site works scheduling, delivery execution, variations, maintenance costing and delivery-quality reporting — ships gated and out of sight until those plans launch.
- Improved reliability, including automatic retries when the platform’s shared database has a brief interruption.
1.0.2 — 14 July 2026
For all users
- Winning a quote is more robust. A pair of issues that could interrupt winning a quote with an unexpected error have been fixed at the root.
- Buttons keep up with your changes. On the Opportunity page, actions like Win Quote and Send Documents now enable and disable immediately as the active revision changes — no need to leave the page and come back.
- Complete from Import — right on the Opportunity page. For the common single-quote path you can now complete an estimate from an import directly from the Opportunity, without drilling into the quote revision first.
- Import totals are double-checked. Imports quietly cross-check the labour landing on your job items against the totals in your BOM paperwork so discrepancies are caught early — nothing for you to do.
Behind the scenes
- Public-holiday calendars no longer occasionally error while being kept up to date in the background.
- New-account setup and the daily demo refresh are more dependable, and internal monitoring detects service issues faster.
- Further groundwork for upcoming capability (delivery scheduling refinements, quality control) ships gated and out of sight until those plans launch.
1.0.1 — 9 July 2026
For all users
- Much faster sign-in and general performance. We reworked how FSManager loads your permissions and data. The first sign-in of the day is now quick for everyone (it could previously be very slow for non-administrator users), and dashboards, lists and reports load faster across the app.
- Revising a quote is simpler. Use Add Revision to revise any quote — including one that’s already been sent or won; there’s no separate requote step. On a won opportunity the Win Quote button becomes Requote, and the sales date on a won or lost opportunity now stays put instead of being overwritten by later activity.
- Job stages display correctly. A job part with all manufacturing tasks complete now shows as Awaiting Delivery rather than appearing one stage behind. The same fix applies at every stage gate.
- The Sign In/Out window sizes properly on mid-size desktop monitors.
Behind the scenes
- Groundwork for upcoming capability (delivery scheduling, quality control, accounting integration) ships in this release but stays out of sight until those plans launch.
- Assorted reliability fixes to attachments, saving, provisioning and error monitoring.
