Edit a customer & manage its tabs

Lite+

Opens an existing customer to update their details, work through the Contacts, Notes and Documents tabs, and deactivate them when they’re no longer trading.

When to use

A customer changes their phone number or sales rep; you want to jot an internal note; or you want to retire an old account without deleting its history.

Step by step

A customer row, e.g. 'Ashburton Plains Developments'
1. Open the customer by clicking their row in the list.
Customer header fields (Name, Trading As, Email, Phone, Sales Rep…)
2. Update any detail here — the form is the same one you filled in when adding the customer.
Notes (tab)
3. Use the Notes tab to record internal notes about this customer.
Documents (tab)
4. Attach quotes, emails or other files under the Documents tab.
Contacts (tab)
5. Manage who you deal with under Contacts — see the contacts help for detail.
Is Active (checkbox)
6. Customers aren't deleted. To retire one, untick Is Active — their jobs and history stay intact.
Save (toolbar button)
7. Save your changes. Save and Close returns you to the list.
